This is site provides an overview of the exemplary AME programs, projects, and resources developed at Balboa over the last decade. Staff and school administrators are available for support and consulting about best practices for AME/ CTE and California Partnerships Academies.
Site visits are available with appointments (suspended until further notice due to Covid-19 closures).

CA Department of Education Regional Model/Demonstration Site for Arts, Media, Entertainment Career Technical Education
Since 2014 Balboa High School and the CAST and Game Design Academy have been recognized as one of eight model Arts, Media, Entertainment Career Technical Education school sites in California who demonstrate model implementation of program best practices and standards. These eight sites are responsible for supporting the California Department of Education in professional development needs, technical and curriculuar support to other programs in the region.
LEOUNDAKIS CENTER FOR INNOVATION AND DESIGN RENOVATION ALMOST COMPLETED!!
August 7th, 2020
After two years, and a $1.5 million dollar CTE facilities grant to support CAST Academy and the Balboa Community, Balboa's LCID Space (the former art wing) will be completing renovation this fall, with new broadcast facilities, and collaborative design and maker spaces.
We are very excited as this is the culmination of nearly seven years of work by Balboa teachers, administrators, community organizations, industry partners, alumni, and SFUSD! We look forward to when we can meet again in person and celebrate this new chapter in Balboa's history.
